WHAT IS IT?
Restylane is a safe and natural dermal filler that
is used to restore volume and fullness to the lips or to correct
moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane is made
of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. This is a natural substance
in the connective tissue of your body.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE TREATMENT
The treatment is performed
by injecting Restylane™ into
the skin by an ultrafine needle. There is a stinging sensation
as the material is injected, and we minimize this by pre-applying
an anesthetic cream. Results
are practically instantaneous.
AFTER CARE
After the injection you may have some redness and
swelling which usually lasts 1-2 days. You need to avoid touching
the area for 6 hours afterwards and to avoid sunbathing or
cold outdoor activities for a few days afterwards.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
On average the effects last for 6 months.
Scheduling a touch up treatment before the product has fully
dissipated may enhance the long lasting effects.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes. Restylane has been used by physicians worldwide
since 1996. Unlike collagen, no allergy testing is required.
The only side effects are local effects of an injection.
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
Anyone who is interested in filling deeper
wrinkles or folds, such as the fold from nose to lips (nasolabial
folds) or the fine lines on upper lips. It can also be used
to enhance lips by increasing volume in the lips.
WHO CANNOT BENEFIT (CONTRAINDICATIONS)
- Those who are pregnant,
breastfeeding or under 18.
- Those with a history of allergy to
bacterial proteins.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost depends on the amount of Restylane
used. The product is packaged as a whole syringe (1ml) or a
half syringe (0.4ml) and you will be charged for each package
opened.
On average, to fill nasolabial lines, we use two syringes,
but for smaller lines only a half syringe may be needed.
The
estimated amount needed to achieve the result you ant will
be decided at consultation.
