Also known as “The Lunchtime Peel”
WHAT IS MICRODERM
This is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that can
treat :
- Clogged pores, whiteheads and blackheads
- Fine lines
- Uneven skin tone
- Acne scars
And generally stimulates a healthy glow
A series of treatments stimulates collagen growth which “fills
in” fine lines and wrinkles, so producing a more youthful appearance.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
A precision hand piece directs a stream of
inert crystals over the surface of the skin combined with a
mild suction to exfoliate the uppermost layers of skin. The
licensed aesthetician can adjust the power from “mild buffing”
to deeper exfoliation according to your needs.
The massaging
effect creates a flushing and cleansing below the skin surface
and also stimulates blood flow, so improving oxygen delivery
and promoting cell renewal.
WHO CAN BENEFIT
Anyone who wants to improve skin tone and
texture, in any area. Nearly all skin types are suitable. If
your skin is fragile or prone to broken capillaries, then a
chemical peel is more suitable than microdermabrasion.
The only
contraindication is active infection.
The ideal candidates
are active people who do not want the longer recovery time
need for deep peels or laser resurfacing.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Immediately after treatment the skin feels softer and will
appear pink for a few hours.
Each treatment lasts 15-60 mins depending on the area and depth
of treatment. On average a full face takes 30 mins.
A nourishing
vitamin serum or ointment may be applied followed by sunscreen.
It is important to avoid sun exposure for 24 hrs after treatment
and to wear sunscreen SPF 30 as your skin will be more sensitive.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
This will be decided during your consultation, but usually
a course of 6 sessions provides maximal results. The first
three treatments are performed weekly, then once every two
weeks for the last three.
MICROPEEL
This is a combination treatment of microdermabrasion and chemical
peel. Performing a microdermabrasion before the chemical peel
allows deeper penetration of product to enhance the effects.
This treatment only takes one hour, and a complete course of
weekly micropeels for 3 weeks followed by one every two weeks
for 6 weeks will produce a significant improvement in texture,
color, wrinkles and blemishes.
