WHAT IS IT?
Botox is an injectable treatment
to reduce frown lines between the brows, forehead creases
and crow’s feet.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Botox Cosmetic prevents wrinkles
by relaxing the underlying muscles so they don’t contract.
The active ingredient blocks nerve impulses to the
muscle body of the tiny facial muscle that cause expression
lines. Which muscles to treat will be decided at your
consultation and the untreated muscles remain unaffected
so preserving your normal facial expression.
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
Anyone who is concerned by frown
lines. We treat all ages over 18.
CONTRAINDICATIONS (WHO
MAY NOT BE SUITABLE)
Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
Anyone with a neurological
disorder such as Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple Sclerosis
(please consult with the physician)
Certain medications can interfere with the Botox,
so please inform the physician of all medications
you take.
Anyone with an allergy to Botox or its constituents
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will have a consultation
with the physician to determine your treatment goals
and plan. Pricing is based on number of units used
and will be determined at this consult.
The physician will then make several injections with
an ultrafine needle across the forehead. There is
minimal discomfort which can be eased with an icepack.
After the procedure you may notice very slight bruising
or redness, but most people do not see any immediate
effects. Over the next 2-7 days you will notice a
softening in frown lines which may continue to improve
for up to 1month.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST
The benefits of Botox usually
last for up to 4 months, but results vary. The treatment
can be repeated every 3-6 months according to the results
you wish to achieve.
